Coron Palawan: A One of a Kind Hopping

On the last few days of January, my friend and I went island hopping in Coron Palawan. We rented a boat that brought us to different places. Before starting the island hopping, we went to the market to buy shrimp, fish, and uncooked rice for our lunch.

When we were ready to board the boat, off we went to our first stop, Kayangan lake. We got out of the boat  and had to go up and down 200 plus steps before reaching the lake. While swimming on the lake, I could feel the warmness of the calm water. There were minute fish and boulders of corals under.

After spending a relaxing time in this place, we had to move to our next destination, the Banul beach. It was just a small part of the island, with 2 to 3 nipa huts and a very small "sari-sari" store with colas in bottles and snacks available. This is a white and very fine sand beach. This is a good spot for travelers who want a tranquil and out of this world unwinding trip. We had our lunch here, in one of the nipa huts that we rented for a very affordable price. The boatman grilled the seafood and cooked the rice for us. My friend and I had a hearty meal with our boatman and his assistant. After eating, we said hello to the sun by drenching our bodies in the very clean and oh-so warm beach. The sunny weather complemented our heart-to-heart talks.

After feeling our skin burning already, we decided to hop to the third tour destination, at Twin Lagoon. Another amazing place to visit because we had to swim and go under stones to get to the other side of the lagoon. The sun was hiding while we enjoyed the hushed serenity and not so warm water.

For our second to the last tour, we went to Siete Pecados. While on the boat, the boatman explained the reason why it was called such, because of the 7 islands next to each other, one gets bigger than the next. The boat halted in the middle of the water, so we could feed a school of fish. I went down the boat to watch them and the corals underwater.

With our bodies feeling cold because of the wind kissing our flesh while on the boat, we had to go to our final stop, at Makinit hot spring. My friend enjoyed the hot water because of its soothing effect to our tired  muscles.  This was the end of our island hopping so we got back to the boat to get back to our lodge for bath and dinner.
